What type of Small parrot?
I am 1 yrs old and have had birds since i was 7. i started with pigeons and bred them and sold them. i recently sold all 24 of them to buy a parrot of some kind. now i am not so ambitious to go and want a macaw or african grey at 13. i was thinking something more like a cockatiel or a quaker. i am open to all suggestions but would prefer one that is around 30 cm, below $200au and can talk. any type is good. thx in advance
Talking, not too expensive in Australia, and around 30cm:
Cockatiels are good pets, but only males are likely to talk. Quakers are a bit louder and more demanding, but also talk better, including females. They might be a little over your price range, but not too much. You might also consider a Mallee Ringneck. They're a similar size and also talk quite well, and are inexpensive in Australia.
The poicephalus parrots would also be a good fit, but cost more than you want (in the US, they're around $300, but they're far more in Australia. In the US, a Mallee ringneck would be too expensive).
