i might get a cockatoo really soon and i don't want him to freak out in the house alone because i have read up on them and they are attention hogs.
I leave for school at 7:00 am and my mom goes to work at 8:00am no one is home until 11:00 am. Then i come back home at 2:40 pm and at this point i will take the bird out. will the bird be comfortable in his cage if i supply him toys and some other things. my dad may take him out if he wants to play with the bird. Would this be a good environment for a cockatoo.
PS. I have owned 2 cockatiels so far and i know how much attention they need will a cockatoo need more time because my cockatiel has no problem with staying in his cage till i get home.
The 2 cockatiels 1 flew away because my friend sister opened the door and the other one i have with me still and he is very happy i dont give up on a pet just because they yell or bite me
They live 70- 80 years. Are you sure you can commit to this time period. You have no idea what your days will be like for the next 80 years.
If you get one get an old one since then you have less of a time commitment.
Maybe get 2 that are around the same age that way when it outlives you it will not loose its whole world and it will have someone to hang out with during the day for decades to come.
