Learning how to drive a golf ball effectively is probably one of the most frustrating parts of the game of golf. Golfers are always trying to find ways to get more distance and to correct problems (a slice or a hook) off the tee. Understanding proper body mechanics and putting your body motions together in an effective way is key in hitting long and straight. This article will provide you with several important tips on driving a golf ball more effectively.
Step #1 You need a good grip when learning how to drive a golf ball. Grip the club firmly but gently so that you can make nice solid contact on the upswing. Step #4 I can hear the little league baseball coach in me saying, "keep your eye on the ball!" Never, ever take your eyes off the ball during your entire swing. Your goal is to hit the ball in the "sweet spot" on the center of the club face because hitting it anyplace else will cause your ball to travel to places that you really don't want to go. You want to be making consistent contact.
