Cockatiel - Quaker- Green Cheek Conure - More?

Okay so my parents promised I could get a bird if I got one by their standards.

-Can not be too loud
-Must be medium-small size
-Must be friendly
-Playful
-Tamable
-Sweet
-Cuddly
-Likes to be out
-Good with other animals and kids

So I did some research, and discovered that Cockatiels, Quakers, and GCCs are like this, but are there any others that I am not aware of?

If not, then which of these birds matches their desires for the most part?

Also could someone links me any sites that give information about each bird just in case there is another site I missed that explains in detail more about the birds?

I would go for a cockatiel as first choice - they are the sweetest birds, definitely not as loud as the other species, and fulfill all your requirements.. Quakers can be very loud and aggressive at times (they bite hard!) - though I have had one female who was really sweet, and green cheeks can also be quite fesity and nippy. Don't forget the "humble" budgie, which can also make a really good pet - the English budgie is larger in size if you prefer them a little bigger. One of the best pet birds I had was a normal budgie who flew round the house wherever he wanted and loved perching amongst the house plants - their droppings are so tiny and can easily be cleaned. He blew kisses and could say a few words too. One of the best talkers but worst biters and loudest screechers I had was a quaker. I would also recommend looking into either the Meyer's parrot or a pionus parrot (there are several types of these) - these are sweet birds and usually good in households with children too.

Good luck in your choice, and please don't forget that you could also do a good deed at the same time by taking in a rescued bird from one of the many parrot sanctuaries or rescue centres in or near the area you live in, depending on where you are, instead of buying one. There are so many rescued birds out there looking for someone to take them home and love them. Please do consider that.
