What bird is right for me?
I would like a medium to large sized bird, that can learn to talk, or sing (doesnt have to, id like it to tho)....doesnt bond with one person, is to be a family bird, can get along with a smaller bird, (i already own 1 cockatiel)
and is less than $300
if there is a bird that will suit my family~its me (im 15), my parents, and my brother (he's 12)
we also have 3 dogs and a cat (dont worry, they leave my cockatiel alone)
I've had my cockatiel for a week !/2, and she isnt tame, she lived with my friend who didnt socialize her, so maybe another bird will make her a little bit happier, because we took her to a bird store yesterday, and they were chirping with her and she was answering, it was very cute~~~so this bird is for my family, and my cockatiel

The best thing to so is to get a hand reared cockatiel as a companion for your other bird if you plan to keep them in the same cage. It will be very tame. You cannot mix another bigger bird with a cockatiel, they will fight and the cockatiel will be killed easily depending on what kind of bird it is. Sometimes an exception is a Sun Conure, but they would have to be introduced slowly and there is no guarentee they would get along. They have piercing screams also.
The best option is a handreared cockatiel. They are fairly cheap as birds go. Also they are excellent mimics.
Remember, no bird can live on a seed only diet! It will only have bad consequences in the long run, resulting in a dead bird or costly vet bills!
Either feed your bird fresh greens and veg and fruit EVERY day along with a wide variety of different seeds, or feed it Harrison's organic bird pellets (easiest option) along with some greens, veg and fruit sometimes.
