How do I train my Mexican Redhead Amazon Parrot?

I have a Mexican Redhead Amazon Parrot, that I got from a friend of mine she is not very people friendly and her mate has recently died... You can put your hand in her cage and she will not bite you but she is very scared and shakes alot when you try to interact with her. She is a very sweet bird and I want her to feel like part of the family and not so afraid, any help would be greatly appreciated... THANK YOU
ok I guess i need to tell you she has been in my home for almost a month now and didnt we didnt do much with her for the first couple of weeks to let her adjust, but keep sending the advice i appreciate it alot thank you so much
I'm not sure if she was a breeder or just had a "boyfriend" like i said i just got her about a month ago and don't know a whole lot about her other then she had a cage mate and he died.

This bird is very stressed and also grieving. You should just let it chill out for at least a week to get used to her new home and people. Don't try handling her during this time. Just talk to her and give her some hand fed treats. After she gets used to everyone, handle her carefully and gently. A bird can grieve for a long time, just as we do. Don't expect too much too soon. Watch for any feather picking or mutilation, this often happens after a mate dies. Make sure she has toys to entertain herself, and give her attention, but be careful not to over do it...this can also cause bad behavior. Make sure she has her wings clipped for safety. It is not wise to leave her cage door open yet....it's too early. Please read my profile.
