What wild bird in the Pacific NW USA has 20- inch feathers?
Hi, I'd like to know what kind of bird in the Pacific NW USA (the Washingon / Oregon area) is wild, not an Ostrich or something, and has 20-inch, curved, gray with a tint of red colored feathers. Feathers that are fairly floppy beyond the first four inches away from the "stem" part. Thanks!
It's a pointy feather.
Definitely not a turkey vulture feather. About an inch wide, 20 inches long, and floppy. A picture will follow soon. Also, quickly deteriorating from the pointy end to the "stem" in under 24 hours.
