I want to know how bad is it to have a baby being overweight Im 40 lb overweight... I really want?
to be a mother soon but all this diet situation is stressing me out. I hear about the risk about birth defects, and health issues... Im thinking if I got pregnant being the weigh that I am the Dr can help me control my weight with a good diet? anyway if I lose weight now and have the baby I have to lose weight after the baby is born, when is this gonna end? im tired! Tell me what to do please!
Being overweight decreases your chances of being able to conceive. Being grossly overweight increases your chances of gestational diabetes, blood pressure problems which can in turn put your baby in danger (preeclampsia and seizures for you) and a host of other problems especially if you have to have a c-section. It also increases the risk of you baby having a very high birth weight and being born with blood sugar problems. You should talk to your dr about a good diet now and just be concerned with the nutrients you take in and a good amount of exercise. Make sure you take prenatal vitamins for at least 3 months before you try to conceive. Keeping the stress to a minimum is a key factor also. It would be much easier to lose the weight you have on now than to wait until after you have your baby. I know it's a lot and if you do it right it's a lifestyle change not just going on a diet twice but to change the way you look at food and exercise and keep it up. It's harder to lose if you wait anyway!
