Hi me and my bf just built a finch aviary (indoors)
It is a little over four feet long and almost two and a half feet wide.
We got two pairs of zebra finches. Two males and two females.
We aren't specifically looking to breed them but we did buy them two finch nests in case they get in the mood.
This is All hand made except the nests which we bought bamboo ones from our pet store.
What else can I put in there for them from outside?
I live around a lot of woods in new england so I have a lot available right now.
Would the like pine cones? Acorns? Leaves? What would the like for their nests or to play with?

If you have a male and a female zebra finches, you will get babies period. If I were you I would biuld an extention to the cage as soon as you get over 4 babies. As for the nest, you can put straw, dried grass (unfertilized), and cotton in the cage for your birds to work with. you should not move the cage or nest while they are building it.
p.s-You are in for a treat with these little birds! Watching the picky male build the nest to perfection is quite entertaining!
