Quiet parrots?
I live in a condo and noise is always a consideration when thinking of any pet.
I've done my homework and am shopping for a bird. I understand that each parrot is an individual and blanket statements regarding loudness vary from bird to bird within the same species.
What medium and larger parrot - greys, amazons, macaws, eclectus and all the rest would you say, overall aren't that vocal other than the normal vocalizations in the AM and PM?
The Eclectus parrot can either be very quiet, or very loud, depending on the individual. Same goes for African Greys.
Most quieter birds though tend to be the smaller species such as budgerigars, caiques, cockatiels, lineolated parrots, senegal parrots, and the almost silent bourke's parakeets.
The loud species are cockatoos, amazons, macaws, conures (although the green cheek not so much), lorikeets, alexandrines, indian ringnecks, derbyans.
