What's it like to have a blue fronted amazon parrot?
I have wanted an African Grey for several years, and I've done extensive research, however, a healthy one can be quite expensive. I've owned smaller birds before like parakeets and finches, but never a parrot. I found a blue fronted amazon on Kijiji.com and he isn't so expensive.......

Not much info but I will ask plenty more if I inquire.
I'm not allowed to have pets in my apartment so it's more or less a fantasy. My friend said I can keep one at his house if I got it, but I wouldn't want to do that. So unless my landlord has a life changing event that makes him grow a heart, I won't be allowed to have pets anytime soon.
SO, for future reference, what would I need to know to own a blue fronted amazon? Is it similar to having an African Grey? (I've done my homework on owning a CAG, that's why I want to know!)

Generally speaking, amazons are more emotional than greys. They also generally handle change a bit better. They have similar (loud) volume and similarly painful bites, but the amazons are more likely to be loud or to bite since they get worked up more easily. I wouldn't recommend either for an apartment. But these are generalities; both greys and amazons have considerable variation in their personalities. Our three amazons' muppet personality equivalents would be Kermit, Miss Piggy, and Animal, if that gives you some idea.
A blue fronted amazon would generally cost roughly as much as a grey. A second hand bird is generally less expensive than a young one, but may come with severe behavioral problems. You should have experience with birds before you take on a rehabilitation project.
