How many parakeets can I house in this cage?
The cage is:
25"L x 21"W x 30"H
I currently have 2 parakeets and am thinking to increase the flock size and add a couple more. How many can live in this cage without feeling overcrowded?
We you could get a few actually, that sounds bigger then the cages the birds are held in at some pets stored, and they have like 10 of them in there sometimes.
But it also depends on what you have in the cage, if there are too many 'toys' taking up space, or not enough bars/sticks for the birds to stand on. Sounds like you could put at lease 3 bars for them to stand on, and maybe some toys that they can stand on (like a swing).
But if you do put more then one/two bars and put some under another, try not to place it directly under one because then the birds are going to poop on each other.
Also, you should remember if you have bird sof opposite sexes then there is always the possibility of mating and babies, which means more birds. So you don't want to fill your cage up if you do have that possibility.
