Hey everyone. I am looking for info about birds.
I really love them and I want one I'll be able to hold. Also, one that doesnt make a lot of noise or one that can be trained to only sing during the day. Any info or breeds etc could really help me. Thank you!
Most birds that you tame early you will be able to hold, if it's a baby or young adult when you start. Budgies are a great first time bird, and will usually quiet down and go to sleep once you cover their cage turn the noise level down for the night. Cockatiels are great too, but they can be a little noisier than Budgies or Parakeets (budgies and parakeets are the exact same type of bird). Budgies are pretty social, so if you get one please make sure you can play with it and stuff for a least an hour a day, and let it be able to watch you around the house and stuff for a few hours. Budgies need at least 10 hours of sleep each night, and need a cage large enough for at least two perches at different heights, a food bowl, a fruit/veggie bowl, and a water bowl. You should also have a good quality bird food like Kaytee or Exact. i would get a male, as they don't bite as hard or as much and they are more apt to talk.
