What type of wild bird is this?
Hi I live in Saskatchewan, this morning I saw a bird that was a nice tan color, a crested head, black eye rings (like a racoon), small to medium size, and was eating berries. Any idea of what kind of bird this might be? Thanks.
Hi Kat, I googled house finch and it didn't look at all like that. It was almost completely tan colored, and it's head had a tufted crest. Thanks anyway.
Most definitely a Cedar waxwing or a Bohemian waxwing!
Both are pretty uncommon and very timid, so it's a real treat to see one! In all of my years of birding, I've not seen one live one.
