Parrot Bird Vitamins?
I have used Avi-Vite Iodized Bird Vitamins for my African Grey for over 25 years. He has wonderful feathers and the brightest red tail! I have been told that Gimborn is discontinuing the large 16 oz size and maybe the whole line of that vitamin. Anyone know of a really good either liquid iodized vitamin supplement for parrots or if Hagen Prime vitamins is a good vitamin to substitue with?
Vitamin supplementation is only needed if the diet is incomplete. A balanced diet would be best, but if it isn't, Prime is a good product for you to use.
Because you have an African grey, you must also supplement with calcium, even on a balanced diet. No matter how hard we try to balance a grey's diet, they tend to be calcium deficient. Right now, I'm using AviCal, of which my avian vet has approved. You can get it at: http://www.avitec.com
