What is the proper amount of formula I should be feeding my baby African Grey?
I just purchased an 8 week old African Grey on Monday and of course, he is still hand feeding. The guy that I bought him from said to give him 1 oz of formula every 4-5 hours. I mix the fomula the way that he showed me. It just seems that he is always hungary about 2 hours after I feed him. I offer him seed, nuts, pellets and fruit, all of which he eats but I want to make sure that I am feeding him enough of the formula. I was on YouTube earlier looking at baby Grey's and I saw a Grey that was 8 weeks and that bird was a lot smaller then mine. My Grey is fully feathered. He is not perching or anything so I am not really sure of his age.
I believe in "feed on demand." It leads to healthier, happier, and more secure babies if they are fed whenever they are hungry. That's how the parent birds do it. 
When fed purely by schedule, babies tend to be fearful and nervous AND nippy. As for perching, let him learn at his own pace.
Just do your best..... I'm pulling for you.
P.S. 30 cc (1 oz.) is plenty per feeding. As he gets older you can gradually use a less water in the formula.
