what type of parrot should i get?
hi i looking for a parrot that can live for a long time (25-50+) but wont cost to much money by parrot i mean any smart bird like cockatiels or parakeets would work to i would also prefer a small to medium bird
im willing to pay 100 to 500 dollars for the bird it self
i also except large parrots if they mach what im looking for
A cockatiel could possibly live 25 years, but it's not likely. Budgies definitely won't. Lovebirds, parrrotlets, Bourke's, and linelolated parakkets live no longer than cockatiels.
Other smallish parrots you might consider:
Pyrrhura conures (e.g., green-cheeked and maroon-bellied) - the quiet(er) conures, playful and cuddly. Good for maybe 25 years:

quaker or monk parrot/parakeet - a bit louder, more likely to talk well, but illegal in many places. Also maybe 25 years:

Aratinga conures (e.g. sun, blue-crowned) - similar personalities to the Pyrrhura conures, but larger and much louder. They may live a few years longer:
