Is this a good bird cage?

I want to get it for 1 parakeet. People say its too small but I dont agree with that at all. I think its perfect size, I don't want to get a wide one because it will go in my bedroom and I have a very small bedroom, so tall it good for me.
And if you get a measuring tape, 27" is pretty tall!

I will let him out of his cage every day. SO he won't be cooped up in there all the time.
And I might get a wider flight cage next year, but I don't know where I would put it, im 14, I don't get a say where to put it, or it would put it in the living room. It HAS to go in my room or the basement.
A parakeet is so small it has plenty of room in a cage like that.
I had a indian ringneck in one that size and it is slightly bigger than a parakeet and it was a perfect size cage for him. Although I'd really recommend a cage with a top side perch. Birds when outside there cage love to hang around it. Also if you get one like this http://birdcages4less.com/page/B/PROD/Small_Bird_Cages/PA5708 it can sit on there outside its cage and poop right on there with no problem to you.
So basically you can leave its cage open 24/7 since it will usually hang around its cage because it recognizes it as its food/water source and protective shelter. Of course it doesn't have to be as big as one in picture, but something with a top piece like that one is something you should look into.
