Does anyone know of a bird-cage manufacturer who will ship a bird cage I can assemble myself?
I would like a large for a bird I have not bought yet, the bird is the size of a parakeet. A big enough bird cage that does not look like a utility box or a jail (thin wire bars) which I can assemble myself with clamps and screws and put a small bush branch in - about three feet across and two-and-a-half feet deep and maybe three to four feet high with a slide-out bottom tray for cleaning? I cannot find a suitable cage that is not TOO big and looks like a vulture cage or TOO small or looks like a jail.
If you want a small bird, you'll need a cage with appropriate wire spacing (3/8"). If the bars are too far apart, your bird will be able to escape, or worse - get trapped in the wires.
To some degree - they all look like jails. They are cages.
Please use a bird cage designed for parakeets. Other metals are commonly coated with zinc, a heavy metal which causes poisoning in birds.
btw - I've never purchased a cage which didn't have to be assembled. They are shipped unassembled.
