my bird will not stand, please help???
my pet budgie is about 7-8 years old and recently I saw that a "gap" or "cavity" started to appear just above the leg...then its wing got very jittery (not broken tho) but it remains like that...and now it cannot stand 
....im gonna take it to the vet in a couple of days even though i think not much will be done since my lovely bird is very old (live about 4-7 years) but in the mean time what can i do to make my bird more comfortable...remember it cant perch.

Hold your bird all the time. When my sister's parrotlette stopped perching we knew that something was wrong. We called the vet and they said they would not do anything because once they go on the ground there's not much you can do. Well we would not give up so we held her constantly for about 3-4 days. She ended up getting back to her normal self and that was about 5 years ago. Your bird might not get better, but being held by you would be the most comfortable for her.
Is there any way that you can take her to a vet today? Go to a vet that has treated other birds and is familiar with a birds needs. The sooner you take your bird in the better off your bird will be.
