My Son's 20 yr. old parrot's feathers have become ugly & look wet . Also his feet are dry & scaley. Any help??
The Bird, was with my Son's ex-wife until Sept. of last year. He came back to my Son looking like this. The feathers look wet and rather clumpy & ugly when they aren't wet. My Son feeds him veggies and parrot food with vitamins and have given him additional liquid vitamins & minerals. We have no pet store here or vet that works on Birds. Also I'm not really sure the bird is a male. Could this have anything to do with the fact that sometimes my Son forgets to uncover him for a few days at a time when he's working, and he is not getting enough light, or possibly well water? The Bird does continue to talk up a storm. I'm grasping at straws & looking at everything to help get the Bird healthy again. Any help anyone can give me will be appreciated. I will inform my Son.
