Most dog owners do not know that they can make some of the toys and clothes their dogs wear and play with too. This is fun to do, and then you and your dog get to try them out and on.
One cool thing that owners can do especially if their dog is a small dog is to find an old sweater that you no longer wear or that is too small. You no longer wear the sweater this will be good to use for your dog. Take the sweater and cut out both of the sleeves of the sweater behind the seam at the shoulder.
Next, you will take the sweater and cut out some places for your little friend to put his or her feet thru. Cut out two small slits along the bottom part of the sleeve of the sweater. Then you simply take a needle and strong thread and sew around the edges to keep the edges from fraying when the dog walks and moves. This will also keep the edges from fraying when you wash the sweater.
This is a neat and fashionable way to keep your dog warm and the sweaters are in style too. Another thing that an owner can do is use the arm or a sweatshirt, or any other type of shirt and just follow the same simple directions.
You can also make some neat and weird toys for you and your dog to play with if, you like sewing. Simply take some old tough material and cut out some weird shapes 2 of each shape for each toy. The toy must be large enough to sew on a sewing machine. You will turn the two outsides of the material together and sew them.
Then turn them wrong side out and you will need to stuff the toy with padding. You can also take on old toy and get the squeaker out of it in stuff it in the new toy. Then after the new toy is stuffed, you simply take a needle and strong thread and sew up the place where you stuff the toy.
Both you and your dog will have hours of fun making and playing with the new unique toys. Your and your dog can both look good during the winter and on the cools days when you go out on your walks together.
The best part about making homemade clothes and toys for your dog is you do not have to spend any money or if you do have to spend some it will be very little.
