Does anyone know where I could get environmentally friendly wood for craft purposes, such as tree prunings?
I'm looking for tree branches, about one & 1/2 to two inches in diameter to saw into pieces for jewelry pendants that I wish to wood-burn designs on. I found some pine branches in my neighborhood last year, but they had a lot of sap in them and were a bit difficult to saw.
Any suggestions? Thanks!
My town has a city compost site. They only accept branches up to 1/2" diameter, usually. You could go there and see what there is (just explain to the security guard what you're doing, I wouldn't expect a problem).
Otherwise I'd just walk around neighborhoods and city parks to see what has fallen. Most trees don't have as big a sap issue as pine.
