Strange cockatiel behavior?
Lately, my cockatiel has been standing with one foot on his perch and the other on a faux wood branch we have set up in his cage. He stretches his legs very far apart when he does this, as if he's trying to lay on his perch, and he chirps wildly. Anyone familiar with this kind of behavior?
I've never seen him do this before and we've had him for thirteen years. It started very recently, but besides this there's no abnormal behavior.
I give him a few hours of attention daily, maybe that's not enough?
Do you think he's just trying to get attention from you? I'm not 100% sure about the stretching the legs part, but if he's chirping frantically (possibly banging and moving back and forth) I would guess he just wants attention. Like I said, I'm not positive on this, but that would be my guess.
